KB-G3-05 G.hn Wave 2 coax to Ethernet adapterOne coax outlet. Four wired 2.5GbE ports.
Turn the TV coax already in your walls into a fast, stable wired network. Each adapter has a built-in 4-port 2.5GbE switch, so the room gets a PC, console, TV and Wi-Fi access point online at once — at up to 1.6 Gbps with under 1 ms latency. No drilling, no new cable, no extra switch.

The KB-G3-05 at a glance
Everything you need to decide in 20 seconds.
- What it is
- A G.hn Wave 2 coax-to-Ethernet adapter with four 2.5GbE ports, sold as a kit of two.
- What it does
- Sends wired internet from your router to any room with a coax outlet — up to 1.6 Gbps, under 1 ms latency.
- Perfect for
- Homes with fiber, 5G, Starlink or DSL internet, satellite TV (DIRECTV, DISH, Astra) or antenna TV.
- Not for
- Coax that carries cable internet (DOCSIS). Use the KB-M3-02 MoCA 2.5 instead.
- Why 4 ports
- No extra switch or power brick: three free ports at the router, four in the far room.
- Setup
- Plug and play in about a minute. No software, no drivers, works with any router.
Most coax adapters stop at one port. Your room doesn’t.
A typical coax adapter gives you a single Ethernet jack — then you buy a switch, find another socket for its power brick and add more cables behind the TV.
The KB-G3-05 puts a 4-port 2.5GbE switch inside every adapter. At the router, three ports stay free for a NAS or PC. In the other room, a TV, console, desktop and access point all plug straight in. Devices on the same adapter talk to each other at full Ethernet speed without touching the coax link.
Single-port adapter
- Adapter + separate switch
- Two power bricks per room
- Extra patch cables
- One more box to fail
KB-G3-05
- Switch built in
- One power adapter
- 4 × 2.5GbE at both ends
- One clean box

Will it work in your home?
G.hn shares the coax with satellite and antenna TV, but not with cable internet. Two quick questions and you’ll know.
1What runs on your coax today?
2How many wired devices in the far room?
Pick an answer above
We’ll tell you straight away whether the KB-G3-05 fits — or which Kiwee adapter does.
Everything a wired room needs, in one box
G.hn Wave 2 is the ITU standard for home networking over existing wires. We built the adapter people kept asking us for.
4 × 2.5GbE with built-in switch
Four identical multi-gig ports per adapter. Use any of them for the router or your devices; they auto-negotiate 2.5G, 1G, 100M and 10M.
Up to 1.6 Gbps, under 1 ms
G.hn Wave 2 runs on 2–200 MHz with very low latency — ideal for competitive gaming, video calls, 4K streaming and mesh backhaul.
Speed-coded port LEDs
Every port shows what’s connected: blue for a 2.5GbE device, green for 1GbE or slower. Spot a bad cable or a slow NIC at a glance.
Keep your TV signal
A built-in TV pass-through (250–2150 MHz) keeps satellite and antenna TV running on the same outlet. No filters to fit, no lost channels.
AES-128 in one press
Hold PAIR for three seconds on each adapter and your network is encrypted — important in apartments where coax can be shared with neighbours.
Compact enough to disappear behind the TV
A slim matte-black enclosure with everything on the back: two F-type coax jacks, four 2.5GbE ports, PAIR and DC. Status LEDs sit on top, where you can read them at a glance.

Every port, explained
Tap any part of the rear panel. Then plug in virtual devices and watch the speed-coded LEDs react.
Four 2.5GbE ports with a built-in switch
All four ports are identical: use any one for your router or your devices. They auto-negotiate 2.5G, 1G, 100M and 10M, and traffic between devices on the same adapter stays local at full Ethernet speed.
PWR
- Solid green — powered on
- Off — no power
G.hn
- Green — excellent link, over 300 Mbps
- Orange — good, 100–300 Mbps
- Red — weak, under 100 Mbps
- Off — no other adapter found
PAIR
- Off — not encrypted (default)
- Blinking — pairing mode
- Solid — secured with AES-128
Ports 1–4
- Blue — 2.5GbE device connected
- Green — 1GbE / 100M / 10M device
- Blinking — data; off — nothing connected
Where four ports make the difference
Any room with a coax outlet becomes a fully wired room.
Left cable TV for fiber, 5G or Starlink? Your coax is still there.
The cable company is gone, but the coax it installed still reaches the bedroom, the office and the basement. Put one adapter by your router and another in any room: the old TV wiring becomes a multi-gigabit wired network, without drilling a single hole.
Gaming room
Console and gaming PC on a wired link with under 1 ms of added latency. No more Wi-Fi lag spikes in the middle of a match.
Home office
Desktop, docking station and NAS on one adapter. Files between the PC and NAS move at full 2.5GbE locally.
Mesh & Wi-Fi backhaul
Give a mesh node or access point a wired backhaul over coax, so every floor gets strong, steady Wi-Fi — and the room still has three free ports.
Media room
TV, AV receiver, streaming box and console — all wired from the coax outlet behind the TV that’s already there.
Fiber ONT to router
Fiber box in the hallway, router in the living room? Bridge them over coax, then use the spare ports on both sides.
Satellite homes
Coexists with DIRECTV, DISH and European satellite and DVB-T2 antenna systems thanks to the 2–200 MHz band and TV pass-through.
Port chips show typical link speeds: ● 2.5GbE device ● 1GbE device.

Two adapters. The coax in between. That’s the network.
Adapter A sits next to your router. Adapter B goes in any room with a coax outlet on the same wiring. They find each other automatically and carry Ethernet over coax at 2–200 MHz — well below satellite and antenna TV, which keep flowing through the TV port.
Need more rooms? Add adapters: up to 16 can share one coax network, sharing up to 1.6 Gbps between them.

Online in about a minute
No app, no drivers, no router settings. The adapters link up on their own.
Adapter A at the router
Wall coax outlet → G.hn port. Router LAN port → any port 1–4. TV optional on the TV port.
About 20 sAdapter B in another room
Coax outlet → G.hn port. Plug up to four devices into ports 1–4.
About 20 sPower on and check
After about a minute, PWR and G.hn light green and each port LED shows blue (2.5GbE) or green (1GbE).
About 60 sSecure it (recommended)
Hold PAIR 3 s on A, then on B within 2 minutes. Solid green PAIR = AES-128 encrypted.
About 10 s
European satellite wall socket (SAT / TV / Radio)?
Leave the receiver on the SAT port. Connect the socket’s DATA port (5–862 MHz) to the adapter’s G.hn port; if there is no DATA port, use TV or Radio only if it passes 5–862 MHz. Tighten every connector.
Getting the best speed
Remove unnecessary splitters, avoid amplifiers between adapters, cover unused splitter outputs with 75 Ω terminators and hand-tighten every F-connector. The G.hn LED shows your link quality live.

* 1.6 Gbps is the maximum rate under optimal conditions. Real-world throughput depends on cable quality, splitters and distance, and is shared by all adapters. “2.5GbE” is the Ethernet port standard, not the speed over coax; a 1GbE device connects at up to 1 Gbps.
Questions, answered straight
Does the KB-G3-05 work with cable internet (DOCSIS)?
No. G.hn uses 2–200 MHz, the same range as cable-internet signals, so it cannot share a coax line with a cable modem. If you get internet from a cable company, choose the Kiwee KB-M3-02 MoCA 2.5 adapter, which is designed to coexist with DOCSIS.
What’s the difference between G.hn and MoCA?
Both send Ethernet over coax, but they use different frequencies and don’t work with each other. G.hn Wave 2 (the KB-G3 series) runs at 2–200 MHz, below satellite and antenna TV — the right choice for satellite, antenna or coax-only homes. MoCA 2.5 (the KB-M3-02) runs above 1 GHz and is designed to share the coax with cable internet (DOCSIS).
Will it interfere with my satellite or antenna TV?
No. The network runs at 2–200 MHz, while satellite and terrestrial TV pass through the adapter’s TV port at 250–2150 MHz. It works alongside DIRECTV, DISH, European satellite systems and DVB-T2 antennas. Satellite systems with a multiswitch can block the signal between rooms — email us and we’ll help you check.
Is it really 2.5 Gbps over coax?
No, and we’d rather say so. The Ethernet ports are 2.5GbE; the coax link carries up to 1.6 Gbps under optimal conditions, shared by all adapters. Real-world speed depends on your cable, splitters and distance. 2.5GbE ports still matter: they let a 2.5G device use the full coax speed (a 1GbE device tops out at about 1 Gbps), and devices on the same adapter talk at full 2.5GbE locally.
Do I need two adapters?
Yes — one next to your router and one in each room you want to wire. That’s why the KB-G3-05 ships as a 2-pack. You can add more adapters later, up to 16 per coax network.
Can I mix it with the KB-G3-01 or KB-G3-03?
Yes. All three are G.hn Wave 2 coax adapters on the same frequency plan. A common setup is a KB-G3-05 at the router (three spare ports for a NAS or PC) and single-port KB-G3-01s in rooms that need only one device. G.hn adapters do not work with MoCA adapters.
Which port do I connect to the router?
Any of them. The four Ethernet ports are identical; the remaining three work like a switch for other devices near the router.
Why is a port LED green instead of blue?
Green means the device connected at 1GbE or slower, which is normal for most TVs and consoles. If the device does have a 2.5GbE port, use a Cat5e or better cable and set its network speed to “Auto”.
Does it work in an apartment building?
Usually, if your outlets share the same coax wiring. Because coax can be shared with neighbours, press PAIR on each adapter to encrypt your network with 128-bit AES.
Can I use it between my fiber ONT and my router?
Yes. Use two adapters to carry the fiber connection to a router in another room. Because the adapter then sits before your router, turn off its DHCP client in the web page and give it a static address, as described in the user guide.
Does it support IPTV?
Yes. Enable IGMP snooping in the multicast settings of the adapter’s web page.
Do I need any software or settings?
No. The adapters connect to each other automatically and work with any router. A built-in web page is available for advanced settings, but most people never need it.
What warranty and support do I get?
A 1-year limited hardware warranty, 30-day returns through Amazon, and direct support from the Kiwee team at info@kiwee-broadband.com. Include your order number and the color of each LED and we’ll get you sorted fast.
